Key differences

Where Mindflow and FortiSOAR differ, question by question.

01

Who runs the platform: Mindflow or FortiSOAR?

Mindflow hosts each customer on a dedicated tenant, in Europe by default, with no servers, operating system or platform upgrades to manage, unlike self-managed FortiSOAR.

The tenant runs in Paris or Frankfurt by default, or in the region you choose, or in your own AWS account on Enterprise, and a Relay Agent reaches systems on your private network through outbound tunnels. Mindflow operates the infrastructure and the platform updates, while dev, test and prod environments, version history and controlled deployments keep your own changes under control. With nothing to install, first flows typically reach production in about two weeks. Self-managed FortiSOAR runs on RHEL or Rocky Linux servers that your team operates and upgrades (July 2026), and FortiCloud SaaS is Fortinetโ€™s hosted option.

02

How do Mindflow and FortiSOAR connect to your tools?

Mindflow ships 4,000+ native integrations covering 100% of each vendorโ€™s API operations, against 700+ FortiSOAR connectors (October 2026), and delivers any missing connector within 7 business days.

Mindflowโ€™s 200,000+ API operations arrive as typed, documented no-code steps across security, IT and cloud tools. A missing connector is built by Mindflow, so your team doesnโ€™t write connector code. Flows can also call existing scripts and MCP servers, and use HTTP, SSH, SFTP or SMTP steps. At Doctolib, 100% of 100+ daily security alerts follow the same response, across 300+ SaaS tools. For a tool FortiSOAR doesnโ€™t cover, your team builds and maintains a Python connector.

03

How much code do Mindflow and FortiSOAR expect from builders?

Mindflow is no-code first, with AIยทยทBuild turning a plain-language request into a flow, while FortiSOARโ€™s visual designer relies on Jinja2 and Code Snippet steps for advanced logic.

Builders describe the outcome in plain language, review the flow that AIยทยทBuild proposes and adjust it step by step. Mindflow connectors already expose each operation with typed inputs, so nobody writes API calls or connector code to reach a tool, and analysts or IT engineers can own their flows. When code helps, Python and Node.js steps are there, and engineers can build from Claude Code, Codex or Cursor through the Mindflow API and MCP server. Version history and controlled deployments move each change from dev to test to prod.

04

How do Mindflow and FortiSOAR 8.0 govern AI agents?

Mindflow AIยทยทAgents investigate and act across your stack, but sensitive actions wait for a human approval in Slack, Microsoft Teams or AIยทยทRooms: AI executes, humans decide.

Each AIยทยทAgent gets a mission, authorized tools and dedicated credentials, permissions apply per operation, and every model call and tool call is logged with inputs and outputs. The MCP Gateway applies the same policy to agents in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, setting each tool to Allowed, Needs approval or Blocked. Models stay your choice: your own LLM keys, self-hosted models or Mindflow-hosted models, and your data never trains models. The Alert Triage AIยทยทAgent sends 94% fewer alerts to analysts. FortiSOAR 8.0 (June 2026) uses FortiAI by default, powered by OpenAI per Fortinet.

05

How do Mindflow and FortiSOAR handle case management?

Mindflow handles cases natively with Case Rooms, and its native FortiSOAR integration lets flows read and update FortiSOAR records, so you can move at your own pace.

Case Rooms are built on AIยทยทRooms and Databases: each case has a status, assignee, priority and custom fields, related alerts are grouped into one case, and analysts and AIยทยทAgents work it together in an auditable room. Flows create and update cases, and can sync them with Jira, ServiceNow or TheHive. Databases hold your own schemas for cases, CMDB, IOC lists or certificates, and Artifacts persist data between runs, separated by environment. During a transition, cases can stay in FortiSOAR while Mindflow flows take over the automation, one playbook at a time.

When to choose FortiSOAR

FortiSOAR is a full SOC platform: native case management with MITRE ATT&CK mapping, war rooms and SLA tracking, 6,500+ playbooks and bidirectional MCP. It runs self-managed on-premises or in your cloud, with air-gapped operation referenced in its documentation, or as FortiCloud SaaS, and it fits tightly with the Fortinet Security Fabric.

You must self-host, on-premises, air-gapped or inside a boundary you operate.

You are an MSSP that wants Fortinet multi-tenant nodes, including tenants housed at client sites.

Your SOC is built on the Fortinet Security Fabric, including OT.

When to choose Mindflow

You want SOAR outcomes without running Linux servers, HA nodes or platform upgrades.

Your stack goes beyond FortiSOARโ€™s 700+ connectors, and youโ€™d rather not build Python connectors.

You want agents in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor behind one approval policy, on your own LLM keys.

You want to move gradually, with Mindflowโ€™s native FortiSOAR integration.

Recommendations by team type

The best fit depends on the team, its stack and its constraints. Here is our recommendation for each, including where FortiSOAR fits better.

Teams that must self-host or run air-gapped

Best fit: FortiSOAR

FortiSOAR runs self-managed on-premises or in your cloud, with Active-Active HA, and its documentation references air-gapped operation.

SOCs built on the Fortinet Security Fabric

Best fit: FortiSOAR

FortiSOAR fits tightly with Fortinet products across the Security Fabric, including OT environments.

Teams that donโ€™t want servers or upgrades to run

Best fit: Mindflow

Mindflow hosts and runs your dedicated tenant, in Europe by default: no OS, HA nodes or platform upgrades for your team.

Analysts who build without code

Best fit: Mindflow

Flows are no-code first, and AIยทยทBuild turns a plain-language request into a flow. FortiSOAR relies on Jinja2 and Code Snippet steps for advanced logic.

MSSPs

Best fit: Both

FortiSOAR offers multi-tenant nodes, including tenants housed at client sites. Mindflow offers environments per client and a Relay Agent per client domain.

Why some teams look beyond FortiSOAR

SOC, IT and cloud teams evaluating a FortiSOAR alternative cite the reasons below, each checked against Fortinetโ€™s documentation and reviews on PeerSpot and G2 (October 2026).

Running the platform

Self-managed FortiSOAR needs RHEL or Rocky Linux servers with at least 8 vCPU and 24 GB of RAM, an additional HA node for high availability, and upgrades run by your team.

Upgrade prerequisites

FortiSOAR 8.0 moves to Python 3.12 and requires upgrading system connectors first. From 7.6.4, Code Snippet playbooks fail until an administrator consents to Advanced Development Features.

Connector coverage

FortiSOAR lists 700+ connectors; other tools need a Python connector your team maintains. Some reviewers on PeerSpot and G2 report a steep learning curve and coding for advanced playbooks.

Security, compliance and deployment

FortiSOAR security and deployment

FortiSOAR runs self-managed on-premises or in AWS, Azure or GCP, or as FortiCloud SaaS, with Active-Active HA and air-gapped operation referenced in Fortinetโ€™s knowledge base. It supports RBAC, LDAP, SAML, MFA, TLS 1.3 and a vault for connector secrets. Its data sheet maps compliance content to ISO 27001 and SOC 2; these are framework mappings, not product certifications (October 2026).

Mindflow security and deployment

SOC 2 Type II audited and ISO 27001:2022 certified.

Dedicated tenant hosted in Europe (Business and Enterprise).

Deployment in your own AWS account, AWS PrivateLink and mutual TLS (Enterprise options).

Relay Agent and fixed IP range to reach systems behind your firewall.

SSO, role-based access, 2FA, and dev, test and production environments.

Audit logs kept 3 months (Business) or 1 year with export to your SIEM (Enterprise).

Your data never trains models.

Switching from FortiSOAR to Mindflow

Mindflowโ€™s native FortiSOAR integration lets cases stay in FortiSOAR while automations move one playbook at a time. Cases then move to Case Rooms once the playbooks run in Mindflow.

01

Map your playbooks

List FortiSOAR playbooks in production with their connectors, modules, triggers and Code Snippet steps. Start with one high-volume process, such as alert enrichment.

02

Connect FortiSOAR

Connect Mindflow to FortiSOAR through its native integration, so flows can read and update FortiSOAR records while analysts keep their usual console.

03

Rebuild on native steps

Recreate each playbook with Mindflow operations instead of custom Python connectors, keeping scripts you still need. Mindflow solution engineers co-build the first flows with you.

04

Switch in waves

Run each flow in a test environment on the same alerts, compare outcomes, then move the trigger and set approvals. Move cases to Case Rooms once every playbook runs in Mindflow.

Mindflow vs FortiSOAR: FAQ

Straight answers to the questions buyers ask us most.

Is Mindflow a FortiSOAR alternative?

Yes. Mindflow is a FortiSOAR alternative for teams that want SOAR outcomes without servers to run: 4,000+ native integrations covering 100% of each vendorโ€™s API, no-code flows, AIยทยทAgents under human approval and native case management with Case Rooms, across SecOps, IT and Cloud Ops. Its native FortiSOAR integration also supports a gradual move.

Does Mindflow replace FortiSOAR?

Yes, if you want SOAR outcomes and native case management without servers or upgrades to run, and flows built without code. No, if you must self-host on-premises or air-gapped, or your SOC is built on the Fortinet Security Fabric, including OT: FortiSOAR fits that better.

Can I migrate from FortiSOAR to Mindflow gradually?

Yes. Mindflowโ€™s native FortiSOAR integration lets flows read and update FortiSOAR records, so cases can stay in FortiSOAR while playbooks move one at a time. Each new flow runs in a test environment on the same alerts before you switch its trigger, and Mindflow solution engineers co-build the first flows with you.

Does Mindflow have case management?

Yes. Case Rooms give Mindflow native case management, built on AIยทยทRooms and Databases: each case has a status, assignee, priority and custom fields, and related alerts are grouped into it. Analysts and AIยทยทAgents work the case together in an auditable room. Flows create and update cases, sync them with Jira, ServiceNow or TheHive, and can read and update FortiSOAR records during a transition.

Is Mindflow SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certified?

Yes. Mindflow is SOC 2 Type II audited and ISO 27001:2022 certified, and Mindflow runs the platform on a dedicated tenant hosted in Europe by default. Controls include SSO, RBAC, 2FA and per-operation permissions, with AWS PrivateLink and mutual TLS as Enterprise options and audit logs exported to your SIEM on Enterprise.

Where is Mindflow hosted, and can it reach on-premises systems?

Mindflow runs each customer on a dedicated tenant in Europe by default (Paris or Frankfurt) or in the region you choose, or in your own AWS account on Enterprise. Its Relay Agent reaches systems on your private network through outbound tunnels, so on-premises tools stay in reach. Mindflow is a French company headquartered in Paris; Fortinet is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California.

Does Mindflow support MCP and my own LLM?

Yes. Mindflowโ€™s MCP Gateway sets each tool to Allowed, Needs approval or Blocked for agents in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and logs every call, and flows can also call your existing MCP servers. Models are your choice: your own LLM keys, self-hosted models or Mindflow-hosted models, and your data never trains models.

How fast can we go live with Mindflow?

First flows typically reach production in about two weeks: a discovery, a proof of value on your own stack, then production with environments, SSO and approvals. There are no servers to install, and Mindflow solution engineers co-build the first flows with you, for example a high-volume FortiSOAR playbook such as alert enrichment.

Choose FortiSOAR if

You must run your SOAR on servers you operate, on-premises or air-gapped.

Choose Mindflow if

You want SOAR outcomes without running servers or upgrades, every API operation of your SecOps, IT and Cloud tools ready to use, and a European vendor.

The short version

What to know before you compare demos.

01

Mindflow runs each customer on a dedicated tenant in Europe by default (Paris or Frankfurt) or in the region you choose, with no servers, operating system or upgrades to manage. Self-managed FortiSOAR runs on Linux servers your team operates.

02

Mindflow pairs automation with native case management: Case Rooms, built on AIยทยทRooms and Databases, group related alerts into one case that analysts and AIยทยทAgents work together.

03

AIยทยทAgents get a mission, authorized tools and dedicated credentials. Sensitive actions wait for human approval in Slack, Microsoft Teams or AIยทยทRooms, and every model call and tool call is logged.

04

Mindflow covers 100% of each vendorโ€™s API: 4,000+ native integrations and 200,000+ operations, against 700+ FortiSOAR connectors (October 2026).

05

Flows are no-code first, with AIยทยทBuild turning a plain-language request into a flow, and Mindflow delivers any missing connector within 7 business days, so nobody writes connector code.

How we compared

We audited FortiSOAR and Mindflow on product capabilities: platform operations and deployment, integrations and connector delivery, playbook building, AI agent governance, models and MCP, case management and multi-tenancy. FortiSOAR facts come from Fortinetโ€™s website, the FortiSOAR data sheet and the FortiSOAR 8.0 documentation, and from public review sites where stated; we checked each one on October 28, 2026. Mindflow facts come from Mindflowโ€™s product documentation. This audit is written by Mindflow. If a fact is outdated or wrong, tell us and weโ€™ll correct it, and that includes readers at Fortinet.

FortiSOAR is a trademark of its respective owner. Mindflow is not affiliated with it.
