Before
Employees likely had to open public channels one by one, review the previous day’s messages and replies, identify meaningful updates, and group related discussions manually. Someone then had to write an English summary, remove routine noise, and post the result for the wider team.
How it works
- Retrieve public channels, exclude configured low-value channels, and group the remaining channels by team prefix.
- Fetch each channel’s messages from the previous day together with its replies, continuing only when valid content is available.
- Generate AI-written highlights and publish the recap to the designated main channel when the collected activity is not empty.
Workflow details
- Trigger and channel discovery: An emailhook-triggered run starts the workflow, which retrieves the available public channels and excludes specified low-value, notification, onboarding, testing, and administrative channels.
- Team organization: The remaining channels are grouped by their name prefixes and sorted so related conversations can be reviewed together in a consistent structure.
- Message collection: For each included channel, the workflow retrieves messages from the previous day and collects the associated replies, while checking whether valid content was returned before continuing.
- AI summarization: The collected channel activity is passed to an AI summarizer instructed to produce clear US English highlights, combine related discussions, preserve meaningful context, and omit routine notices, greetings, access requests, bot messages, and other low-value updates.
- Recap delivery: If meaningful content exists, the generated recap is posted to the designated main or origin channel; empty channels do not generate a recap post.
What changed
The daily review now runs as an automated sweep: channel selection, team grouping, message and reply collection, noise filtering, summarization, empty-content checks, and recap posting happen without manual compilation or channel-by-channel handoffs.
Work removed
Reviewing each included public channel and its replies, grouping channels by team, filtering routine updates, writing daily English highlights, and copying the finished recap into the main channel.
Expected outcome
One recurring channel-review cycle is replaced each day by a consistent AI-generated recap, with the exact time saved depending on the number of active channels and messages.
