Before
Someone likely had to review incoming form responses and manually copy their values into a spreadsheet. This repeated transfer created an ongoing dependency on timely data entry before the responses were available in the shared record.
How it works
- Capture each new form response through the incoming trigger.
- Retrieve the submitted values for processing.
- Append the response to the designated spreadsheet as a new record.
Workflow details
- Capture: The workflow starts when a new form response arrives through the configured emailhook or webhook trigger.
- Retrieve: It retrieves the submitted form data so the response can be processed without requiring a person to collect and reformat it manually.
- Record: The workflow appends the retrieved values to the designated spreadsheet, preserving each submission in the shared response log.
- Operational result: New form responses are transferred into the spreadsheet as part of the same automated sequence, reducing the delay between submission and record availability.
What changed
Form responses now move automatically from the incoming trigger into the spreadsheet, so the record is created as part of the submission workflow rather than through a separate manual data-entry step.
Work removed
Manually reviewing new form responses, copying submitted values, switching to the spreadsheet, and entering each response as a new row.
Expected outcome
At least one manual spreadsheet-entry action is removed for each submitted response, with new responses recorded automatically in the shared spreadsheet.
